Bill E. Shaw
Double Monkey Time
SONO 1064

Bill E Shaw was born in Bakersfield, CA, and grew up listening to thesounds of Buck Owens, Merle Haggard and the countless other dust bowl descendants whose songs graced the local airwaves.    Learning to play the guitar at age ten, Bill E became obsessed with the records of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, then later with the "Kings of he Blues," Albert, Freddie, and BB. By age 17, Bill E was melding these diverse musical influences, performing at concerts, playing clubs, writingsongs, and learning his way around the recording studio.
Moving to Los Angeles in his early 20's, an association with Leon Russell and Denny Cordell's Shelter Records offered Bill E the opportunity to become involved in Hollywood recording sessions with such artists as Joe Cocker, Tom Petty and Dwight Twilley, as well as playing on, engineering, and producing Shelter demo sessions.
In the mid 1980's, Bill E moved from LA to Nashville, where he wrote songs and played guitar in the studio and on the road with Merle Haggard, Delbert McClinton and Shelby Lynne.
Now living in New Orleans, Bill E has integrated a whole new world of influences into his life-long musical mix. Bringing together such great musicians as Crescent City tenor sax ace Jerry Jumonville, with whom he first played during his Los Angeles days, renowned Memphis bass man Mike Leech, along with Joe Krown, Alan Linker, and EJ Griffin, Bill E Shaw now gives us the album, "Double Monkey Time."
